The GBPSSI-AAN community is proud to introduce Mr. Ashish Tiwari, an accomplished alumnus from the Third Batch (2003-05). Ashish is a dedicated Project Manager with over two decades of experience in development, focusing primarily on livelihood promotion, artisanal support, and government scheme implementation.

Ashish Tiwari's career demonstrates a powerful continuity from grassroots development work to leading large-scale government projects that directly impact rural livelihoods and traditional crafts.

Project Management & Artisanal Support (FDDI - 16+ years): Since 2009, he has served as Project Manager and Head of CRCs (Centralised Resource Centers) at the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI). In this capacity, he manages the high-profile project "Support to Artisans" of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI).

His role involves overall responsibility for project implementation in an entire state (Rajasthan), crucial liaison and coordination with government departments, and rigorous supervision and financial reporting.

Government Program Appraisal (CAPART): He served as Manager at the Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART). Here, he was responsible for operating national emporiums, organizing major national/international events, and critically, appraising project proposals from VOs across India for financial assistance.

Grassroots & NGO Management (ARAVALI): As Program Officer at ARAVALI, he established and strengthened systems (planning, monitoring, data management) for a diverse portfolio of development projects, including the National Child Labour Project (NCLP), Micro Finance, Disaster Management, and NABARD-supported SHG programs.

Rural Scheme Implementation (DRDA): Began his professional journey at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) as a Young Development Professional. He was responsible for the monitoring and verification of the Swarn Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yozana (SGSY) and led the District Supply and Marketing Support (DSMS) to promote and market SHG products.

Ashish Tiwari's expertise is concentrated on the intersection of economic empowerment, skill upgradation, and market linkage, making him a central figure in India's efforts to formalize and support the rural and artisanal economy.

Ashish Tiwari is an exemplary GBPSSI alumnus who consistently applies his skills in management and coordination to ensure that government schemes and development projects achieve effective and timely completion on the ground.
