Ashish is the Vice President and Zonal Head at Axis Bank, overseeing operations across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

With extensive experience in banking and leadership roles, he drives strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and enhanced customer experience, strengthening the bank’s presence in key regions.

The GBPSSI-AAN community is honoured to introduce Mr. Ashish Kumar Tripathi, an influential alumnus from the Sixth Batch (2006-08). Ashish is a dedicated finance professional with nearly two decades of experience, currently holding the key position of Zonal Head at Axis Bank Ltd., managing operations across several North Indian states.

Ashish’s career is defined by strategic leadership in the Social and Collateral Lending space within major banking and microfinance institutions. His stated professional goal is to be a catalyst in the growth of his organization while ensuring his work contributes to eradicating poverty and providing a social safety net.

Zonal Leadership (Axis Bank - Current Role): Currently the Zonal Head for UP, Uttarakhand, MP, Punjab, and Haryana at Axis Bank. He previously served as Regional Sales Manager, managing and monitoring microfinance business across multiple states and a portfolio of over ₹115 crore.

Risk & Credit Management: Specializes in mitigating risk, crisis management, and turning around adverse portfolios. He served as Head of Credit & Risk at Midland Microfin Ltd. and Head of Credit & Compliance at Satin Creditcare Network Limited, focusing on compliance, risk mitigation, and managing Non-Performing Assets (NPAs).

Large-Scale Team and Portfolio Management: Throughout his career, he has managed large staff teams (upwards of 200 staff) and extensive branch networks (upwards of 42 branches) across multiple states (including MP, Rajasthan, UP, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha), demonstrating a proven track record of driving growth and profit many fold.

Microfinance Foundation: Gained foundational experience in the core microfinance sector during his 6+ year tenure at Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited (Formerly SKS Microfinance Limited), where he was an Area Manager managing operations, a member base of over 40,000, and a portfolio of over ₹35 crores in complex operating environments.

Ashish holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Rural Development from the G.B. Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad (2006–2008).
